Finalement, le moyen le plus simple qui vient à l’esprit cartésien ne serait-il pas une échelle, avec toujours plus de barreaux, tendue vers le ciel ? C’est cette quête de hauteur céleste que Jean-Pierre David, avec Aérosculpture, visite et interroge en proposant cette échelle aérostatique qui tente l’impossible.

Conquering the air. Before having the audacity to invent wings, man’s obsession with knowing what is going on up there, in the clouds, opens the way to all possible imaginations. In the end, wouldn’t the simplest way for the Cartesian mind be a ladder, with more and more rungs, stretched towards the sky? It is this quest for celestial height that Jean-Pierre David, with Aérosculpture, visits and questions by proposing this aerostatic ladder which attempts the impossible.
